I started my millinery business some 17 years ago with 12,000 naira selling my gold chain that I bought during my nysc with 12,000 Naira I went to a millinery shop and got some m aterials for making hat as at that time full hat were in vogue so I could make six different hats this was the beginning of my business I decided to stop working and just start making different hats

My family thought I was joking or I didn't understand what I was doing. But seriously this was what I wanted to do I had always love to create stuff with my hands I knew I was on the creative side so I decided to learn hatmaking during my nysc for 5K I actually paid with my first allowance and I kept going for more millinery training home and Abroad and now I am so knowledgeable about millinery something happened.

I was broke all I thought I was going to have was good life and be able to afford the good things of life but no way I was so broke that I could not afford to even buy a good clothes.I thought my millinery business will make me weathy but no I was still wrong was still broke. After a while I Began to doubt my decisions I wasn't sure anymore if millinery was going to be my thing, I also doubted my ability I started thinking of what other thing to do. Customers were pricing really low and i started becoming very desperate and I begun to accept all kinds of ridiculous prices I became even more broke. Customer started to tell me my designs were the same in the market and other shop and so they ask me,why my price was higher.

They would always Decline and because of desperation i will up for their prices I became very frustrated and broke he was a serious trouble I was almost giving up. I did know who to turn to , no body to tell my frustrations obviously I couldn't go to my family because I knew they were going to laugh at me real hard. I started thinking way forward with so much sleepless night I Began to research, think into what designs I can create that will make my work stand out and be different from other milliner.

It was at this point I decided to look into Crinoline and see what I could create using crinoline that will be different from other milliner Since most milliners look down on Crinoline and my customers too. So I thought what can I create that will be very eye catching that my customers will love and will be willing to pay. Then if they like it I can put a good price to it , they will have no choice but to pay for it. And if they refuse to pay and then check out in another millinery shop they will never see my designs there .So if they really like my fascinator made with crinoline they will surely come to pay.

so I started brain work I started trying my hands on different sizes of crinoline I started to work day and night try my hands on creating beautiful piece and then scattering it recreating it again. You know and I got to a point that I could create beautiful hats and fascinators that my customers were willing to buy and boom and I mastered crinoline I Began to understand crinoline . You know crinoline has a mind of its own. I Began to create masterpieces using crinoline and I Began to sell up my hats and fascinators quickly my customers began to love my hats and fascinator using crinoline and began to raise my prices little by little and the response became very encouraging. I won't lie I almost gave up on millinery.
